Long before any church ever passed an offering, the Bible told a simpler story: everything we have is a gift. Generosity is just what happens when that finally sinks in. So before we say a word about giving — let's talk about why it's worth doing at all.
Generosity is one of our five core values — we call it Irrational Generosity. We lead with an open hand because everything we have — our time, our talent, our treasure — already belongs to God. We don't give what's left over. We give our best, because He gave His best. It isn't a transaction or a fee for attending. It's worship.
We honor God with the first and the best of what we have — not the leftovers. Where our money goes is one of the clearest pictures of what we actually treasure.
An open hand says we believe God is the provider — not our paycheck. It's the one area Scripture invites us to test Him, and watch Him prove faithful.
It turns out the cheerful giver is the one who ends up full. God isn't after reluctant gifts — He's after freed-up hearts that have learned the joy of letting go.
"Though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich."
Every gift turns into something — a roof, a bus seat, a bright room, an open door. Here are four of them.
Generosity put a team on a plane to the Dominican Republic, where they built a family a home from the ground up with Casas por Cristo — walls raised, roof set, a front door hung. The house was never really the point. The family was.
We sent a bus full of 6th–12th graders to Accelerant — worship, teaching, and a weekend away from the noise. Scholarships meant cost was never the reason a kid stayed home. Some of them met Jesus for the first time on that trip.
Giving remodeled the Compassion Kids space — brighter rooms, safer check-in, and a place little ones actually beg to come back to. When parents can trust the room their kids are in, they finally exhale and worship — and more than a few first-time families decide to stay.
The Hope Center is a Christ-centered home where people walk out of addiction and into a new life — through counseling, discipleship, and the daily rhythm of a structured place to heal. Generosity keeps the doors open and a bed ready for whoever's next.
